Jiribam 20 April 2016: The number of foreigner infiltration to Manipur has been strongly under control in the Western gate of Manipur at Jiribam, which can be taken into consideration by the number of intruders rejected count to 241 since January 2016 till date.

In-spite of the strong verification process carried out by the Jiri Police Foreigner Check Post and CID (SB) Foreigner Check Post, there has been a report of foreigner infiltration of around 36 through the western post and the bypass of around 26 from the inside, which were believe to be a leak from the capital city, Imphal.

Mr. N.Udhoi Singh of Jiri Police Foreigner Check post said that it has been their only duty to cross check all the documents necessary for verification and reject any intruders who does not meet the requirement. But due to the National Projects like the Railway and National highway and its collaborated companies import of labours it has been difficult for personal verification. They were given a list of labour under a single letter head and were introduce as their company labour, which were impossible for them to cross-check singly.

He also identified the most probable unseen routes could be those not under the reach of Jiri Police Foreigner Check post and CID (SB) Foreigner Check Post viz. Barak River/Jiri River.
