A combined team of BSF and Narcotic Control Bureau Sub Zone, Imphal arrested one person along with 13.420 kg of opium worth Rs 13.42 lakh in the international market from S Canan Veng under Churachandpur police station.
A reliable source said that based on a specific information provided by the Field Ground team of BSF Imphal, personnel of NCB Sub Zone Imphal and 54th Bn BSF launched an operation at S Canan veng at around 2 pm today.
During the operation, a man identified as Lhunkhomang Touthang alias Mangboi (48) s/o Seikhokhai Thouthang of S Canan Veng was arrested along with the opium.
The person has been detained by NCB Sub Zone, Imphal, added the source.
