IMPHAL, Jun 1: An under-trial prisoner lodged at Sajiwa Central Jail at Khabeisoi under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district was found dead hanging from his room window this early morning around 4.
The deceased jail inmate was identified as Elangbam Naobi Singh, 26, son of Late Ibomcha Singh of Takhel Makha Leikai under Lamlai Police Station.
He was facing trial on the charges of stabbing a man from his locality to death and injuring other two persons in June last year.
The body was handed over to his family after performing post mortem examination at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) morgue today itself.
