JAC threatens to launch fresh stir

IMPHAL, Jul 5: The JAC constituted against declaration of former JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan as a wanted man has threatened to launch different forms of intense agitation in association with JCILPS from July 9 if the FIR and wanted tag are not revoked before July 8 so that Ratan may take part at the death anniversary of Sapam Robinhood. Speaking to reporters, JAC spokesperson Th Dara urged the public to extend support to the agitations initiated by the JAC in this regard.

Meanwhile, Rakesh Ranjan, Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur, yesterday directed the State Government to submit all the records related to declaration of wanted tag on Khomdram Ratan before Court on July 11.

The directive came after a petition was filed before the Single Bench of the Court by former JCILPS convener Khomdram Ratan (48) s/o Ibotombi of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai under civil case number 462 of 2016.

The respondents of the petition are Additional Chief Secretary (Home), DGP , PRO Manipur Police, SP Imphal West and OC Singjamei PS.
