MUTSU seeks clarification from MU, warns serious stir

Seeking clarification from the Manipur University authority over its press statement issued on September 21 and 22 within 28 of this month, Manipur University Tribal Students’ Union (MUTSU) warned to take serious course of agitation from September 29.

A press release of the student body signed by its Information and Publicity Secretary, Hekai Lhouvum alleged that the MU authority is not clear with its statement by mentioning that they (MU authority) followed the Amendment 2012 (34%) and at no stage they followed the state norms (31%).

It also said that the MU authority’s claim of following the Central government policy CEI (Reservation in Admission), Amendment Act, 2012 is only to create misunderstanding among the students community.

Further MUTSU questioned the MU authority on their failure to take directives from UGC well at ahead in time before the admission session commence.

It also asked the representative of MU authority who went to Delhi for clarification, and even after getting the clarification from the UGC, why they could not still proceed with the admission process.

While seeking clarification of press statement of the MU authority within September 28, MUTSU warned to take up serious course of agitation from September 29.
