United Committee Manipur President Elangbam Johnson has said that NSCN (IM) is the enemy of the state. Further, the UNC should also be announced as a banned organization.
Talking to reporters at the Lamphel office of UCM, he said that the state is now in a very critical juncture and all communities needs to preserve and maintain harmony.
“It is very clear that the NSCN (IM) is behind the attacks which killed 3 and injured several others. This organization is trying to polarize the different ethnic communities of the state. We all need to know who is the common enemy.”
Johnson mentioned that the Centre should also check the peace accord signed with the NSCN (IM) as they are the breaking the ground rules and carrying out ambushes in Manipur soil which means that the NSCN (IM) is not sticking to the ceasefire gound rules.
He also lamented the attack on MBC church by unidentified persons and appealed the public to refrain from such acts which may polarize the communities.
He maintained that the NSCN (IM) is the enemy and not any particular community which have co-existed in harmony in the state.
Johnson also appealed that journalists and other staff of essential services should not be troubled during strikes. He appealed all concerned to refrain from calling agitations which could flare up needlessly and benefit the NSCN(IM) who wants that objective.
