RPL-Certificate Distribution Ceremony under PMKVY (Two Shaft Handloom Weaver), Orgd. By Chanu Creations

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) had launched Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) in the year 2015. The objective of this Skill Certification scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevent skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) component of the Scheme. RPL mainly focuses on the individuals engaged in unregulated sectors.

The objectives of RPL are primarily three-fold :
i) to align the competencies of the un-regulated workforce of the country to the standardized National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF),
ii) to enhance the career/employability opportunities of an individual as well as provide alternative routes to higher education and iii) to provide opportunities for reducing inequalities based on privileging certain forms of knowledge over others.
Under this Scheme (PMKVY), Chanu Creations, Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai, Imphal West has given training to 8228 trainees.Out of this 7130 trainees were from Manipur and 1098 from Tripura. Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC) were the Projcet Implementing Agency (PIA) of the said project under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Chanu Creations were the RPL Facilitator.
On dated 7th May, 2017 (Sunday), Chanu Creations was Organised RPL – Certificate Distribution Ceremony to the successful candidates/trainees at Lilong Karam, Imphal West. W. Joyshankar Luwang, Project Manager of Chanu Creations, S. Sanatomba Councillor Ward No. 6, Lilong Nagar Panchayet, Karam Priyobarta Member Ward No. 6, Lilong Nagar Panchayet and Karam  Sanatajit Singh, President Karam Awang Leikai Handloom & Handicrafts Co-operative Society Ltd. were the President, Chief Guest and Guest of Honours of the function respectively.
