IMPHAL | Dec 3 (NNN): The All Manipur Border Area Development Association (AMBADA) has threatened to impose “indefinite Manipur bandh” if the Government does not fulfill its demands.

In a statement, AMBADA said it held a meeting today at Moreh town and discussed many problems faced by the general public living in the border areas. After a detailed discussion, the members strongly objected the implementation of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) funds through “tender system”.

One resolution of today’s meeting has been that, “all chiefs (border area) are intimated not to give any land deed to the Government”. AMBADA also strongly opposed the demand of land deeds by the Government, it said.

“Further, the Government should not issue the BADP 2017-2018 work order until it (government) fulfills the demands of the Association”, AMBADA said. “If the Government ignores its demands then we have no other option but to impose indefinite Manipur bandh”, it threatened.
