IMPHAL, Oct 30: Governor Gutbanchan Jagat has greeted the people of Manipur specially the Kuki-Chin-Mizo brethren on the joyous occasion of ‘Kut’ festival, which is to celebrate on November 1.
In a message, the Governor said ‘Kut’ is post harvest festival of Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups of Manipur by way of thanks-giving to God for a bountiful harvest. It exemplifies gratefulness, compassion and gaiety. Rejecting the variances of castes, creed and religion, the festival provides a unique opportunity to everybody to introspect. Let the ‘Kut’ spread the message of work culture, peaceful co-existence, brotherhood, compassion and forgiveness to all the people of the state, the Governor’s message said.
