Political talks next step for SoO group

Lamka, Oct 8 : With all the SoO groups from the KNO and UPF having signed a tripartite agreements with the government of India ,GOI, and the state government of Manipur earlier and most of the cadres entering designated camps, the next steps left with the government is to open the door for a political dialogue for solutions of their problems .
Answering querries with regards to this on the sidelines of todays Open House Discussion at 27 Sector AR Hqtrs on the Implementation of SoO Agreement and the Way Ahead for a Lasting Peace the Maj General DS Hooda VSM , GOC 57th Mountain Division who attend the platform as chief guest has said the government is ready for talks and is looking for ways , ` Time will come ` he said to the media persons .
About the peace process that has started since the signing of SoO he said he is very satisfied adding that is the way we have to go so as to achieve a lasting peace in the region.
He said they have been trying to check any types of violation of the ground rules while stating that incase of any serious violation of the ground rules serious action may be taken up against the erring parties.
Talking at the discussion he said its time to give up the violence and take as a duty to give security to all wherever we are
The discussion which has been taken part by the DC/Ccpur , SP/Ccpur , senior citizens student leaders with all the army officials of all ranks and files have an unanimous view on the need for lasting peace as the preconditions to development
Most of the talkers on various topics recall the pristine peace and tranquility prevailing in the district while yearning for the return of such an atmosphere.
The commanders 27 Sectors Hqtrs Surrendra Mehta said for lasting peace the support of the affected parties are a must while pointing out that shifting of all the cadres into their designated camps are the first big steps for conflict resolution for lasting peace .
He said though there are no proper infrastructures at designated camps that cannot be an excuse for non occupation of the camps while adding many vocational training facilities will be provided to the cadres at the camp and they will be imparted knowledge in such as way as to equip them for earning a decent livelihood.
He said any attempt to proliferate arms from the camps will be dealt with a firm hand and the cadres cannot cross the zone of influences from camps and any violation may not be allowed.
Col Atul CO 12 Madras Regt said as has been proposed by the ZRA due to the need to have another one more designated camps it will decided at the JMG level and the sites will be finalised while adding an anti extortion cell has been established with phone numbers given so that any who have complain may do so.
