IMPHAL, Nov 23: Even though the cease-work strike launched by the Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) demanding implementation of Sixth Central Revised pay in toto has entered seven days today and there is till no positive responses from the state government.
The press statement of the association recalled that, state government during the recent cabinet meeting held on April 1, last approved for the implementation of sixth Central revised pay in toto for the MLAs and ministers and betrayal of the employees of the state by the government has been shown by the failure of this government in implementing the sixth Central revised pay in toto as state government has already signed the MOU with the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO on May 19 last.
The release further mentioned, keeping silence on the issue for almost 7 month will be taken as complete betrayal of employees and society by the state government and felt ill sentiments by the teachers community and the present cease work strike of the association will continue until and unless their demands are fulfilled.
In the meantime, the Senapati District Teachers’ Association has reaffirmed their stand to support the existing cease strike of COTA.
According to a release of the association, all teachers working in elementary to Higher secondary at the Senapati district under this association have shown solidarities to the present cease work strike of the COTA and they will continue till the demands are made by the state government, the release added.
