DIMAPUR, Nov 9 (NNN): Anti-corruption cell of Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC) sought clarification from DC Dimapur on land pattas issued in some areas around the town.
In a press release DCC cell claimed that through some public complaint and reliable sources, it was learned that DC Dimapur had issued land pattas belonging to Manipur State Transport, plot of land near Public College of Commerce and also some portion of the circuit house boundary wall to some individual/parties.
Asserting that the pattas of public places was still being issued randomly, the cell stated that the land belonging to P.W.D department, meant for its central store, was also allotted for NPF Dimapur division office in 2009. Further, it pointed out that the allocation was made based on some directives from VVIP, as per the clarification issued by DC Dimapur.
The cell sought immediate clarification from the DCâ€™s office basing on what grounds and under whose directive the pattas were issued. They also urged all the denizens of Dimapur, civil societies/NGOs not to be ignorant but to come forward with a common voice by maintaining that such places were meant for convenience of the public, irrespective of party affiliation, favoritism, nepotism.
Meanwhile, speaking to Nagaland Post over the phone, DC Dimapur clarified that the land near PCC was given back to its original allottes. He informed that the MST land was allotted to seven individuals only after the approval from the government. With regard to Circuit House boundary, he said that the land was given to the ex-servicemen community to set up a ploy clinic, with the approval from the government. On the patta related to the PWD central store, DC said that it has been mutated to the NPF party based on the directives of the government. He also further urged the anti-corruption cell of DCC to verify any matter before going to the media.
