Police modernization assessment in progress

IMPHAL, Nov 6: For the effective implementation of various schemes taken up in the state under the Modernisation of State Police Force, (MPF) the Ministry of Home Affair’s Government of India has entrusted BPR&D with task of undertaking an Impact
Assessment Study so as to review the possibility of the scheme’s continuance for another 5-10 years.
According to a highly placed official source, an official intimation in connection was sent to state Home department during October last informing that BPR&D has outsourced the impact assessment study to M/S Ernst & Young Pvt. Ltd. and the firm has
since submitted its report to BPR&D and MHA.
In the report, the DGP Manipur mentioned that a representation was given by the M/s Ernst & Young and BPR &D to the Union
Minister for Home Affairs on October 16 on the study report.
The report said the MHA has since advised the DGP Manipur to prepare a draft perspective Plan for next five years (2011-12 to
2015-16) under MPF scheme, so that Annual Action Plan can be chalked out of the next five year.
