Life skill development training begins at MU

    IMPHAL, Dec 17: The inaugural function of seven days training of trainers for National Service Scheme Programme Officers of Manipur was held today at the Geography Department of Manipur University.
    The function was graced by the prof HNK Sharma, pro vice chancellor, MU, Dipak Kumar, youth officer, NSS Regional centre, Guwahati and Dr A Rajmani Singh, programme co-ordinator NSS cell, MU as the president and guests of honour respectively.
    Dipak Kumar while furnishing the introductory speech on life skills education at the function stated that the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development was established in 1993, with the main objective of furnishing life skill trainings to the youth of the nation as a way of providing research to their trainers in return.
    Life skill training is not new in the country, he said adding the nation has a rich history of culture. He further elaborated that a life skill learner need self confidence, respect for elders which has already been taught to us by our parents.
    Furthermore, he added that as a human we can give to the society with not only money but also with love and ideas which are vary much a part of the life skills education that is to be provided during the seven day long training.
    He further stated that the trainees receiving training on life skills today will be doing a lot of good for the society tomorrow by providing the much needed love, support and awareness to the senior citizens, poor and others living with various dreaded diseases.
    He further mentioned that each and every citizen in the nation should be able to respect every individual society.
    The training session will end on December 23.
