IMPHAL, Dec 2: Security forces have arrested four underground cadres including one woman cadre and recovered small arms from the cadres from separate counter insurgency operations in the state since yesterday.
According to an official release of the PRO, troops of 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR (S), discovering the presence of UG cadres in the general area of View Land of Ukhrul district, launched an operation in the area and apprehended one active cadre of NSCN (IM) today early morning at around 4am.
It has further identified the apprehended ug cadre as H Mawon Shang, 28, son of H Khawang Shang, resident of Kachai village, Ukhrul. The team also recovered one 9mm Pistol with 2 live rounds. The apprehended cadre along with the recovered items were handed over to the Porompat Police station added the release.
In another counter insurgency operation, a team of Imphal West district police commandos acting on credible information has arrested three KCP (MTF) cadres from near Minuthong MMT gate yesterday at around 12:45 pm.
According to release of the SSP, Imphal West district the three has been identified as Ningthoujam Ibochouba alias Nonglel, 45, son of (L) N Irabot of Porompat Kshetri Leikai, Wairakpam Sunil Singh, 33, son of W Sudhir Singh of New Checkon near NCYC Club and Khangembam Promila alias Aboi Devi, 33, wife of Kh Shantikumar Singh of Karong School Leirak.
It has further stated that on spot verification Ningthoujam Ibochouba alias Nonglel disclosed to have joined the proscribed outfit in the month of July 2010 through one Samananda of Kongpal Mutum Leikai and as working under the command of one Kesho of KCP (MTF) and he further recruited the other two activists arrested along with him yesterday.
He further disclosed that he had extorted huge amount of money from government employees for party fund. The other two arrested activists further disclosed that they have been assisting Ningthoujam Ibochouba alias Nonglel in recruiting cadres, transportation of arms and ammunition and extortion, added the release.
