JAC against abduction of security supervisor imposed bandh along Tiddim road

IMPHAL, Feb 13: A 48 hour bandh has been imposed along the Tiddim road, by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the abduction of Kh. Boboi, supervisor BCL Company (Aircel) from 5 am of February 14 to 16 February 5 am.
At the same time, the JAC has decided to Gherao all offices of mobile service providers in the State as a mark of protest for the failure of the concerned company to take up immediate measure for the safe release of the abducted victim.
Kh. Boboy, 30, of Kumbi Bazar working as a supervisor of the BCL security private limited, New Delhi was reportedly kidnapped by KCP MC Taibanganba militant outfit on February 11, for a ransom of rupees 5 crore.
A meeting cum sit in protest comprising of various civil bodies and local clubs organised today at Kumbi Bazar and formed a JAC in connection with the abduction.
The meeting, which was attended by JAC members along with those of Kumbi Assembly Constituency Womens’ Association, Kumbi Apunba Nupi lup, Kumbi Kendra Development Committee, Khuga Athletic and Library Association etc. has resolved to take up various forms of agitation including the imposition of bandh.
Speaking during the meet, the JAC president Th. Khomdonbi, said that Boboy was an innocent person and also strongly opposed the act of abduction of an individual who is not the competent authority to represent a respective firm or company. 
A mass sit in protest was also held at Kumbi Bazaar demanding the safe release of Boboy urging the concerned company to bring an amicable solution to avoid any unwanted incident.
At the same time the frustrated protestors during the meet hold placards and banners which read “Go back mobile companies”. While talking to media persons, a protestor said “these companies have created enough disturbances to the employees and family, recently an employee was killed by for the same reason which is intolerable”.
It may be recalled that an underground outfit in a statement had claimed that Khundrakpam Thoiba of Nachou Kha Leikai was given capital punishment for violating the party’s restrictions by working as a security officer in Sagar (Aircel) company.
The statement further urged the Telecom companies like the Vodafone, Idea, LUF, Tata Indicom which are attached to Aircel, GTL, BCL, VIOM, Sagar and QUIPPO (WTTIL) to sort out together the directive of the outfit failing which it warned of the giving the same fate as that of Thoiba to the abducted victim.
