The Manipur Cycle Club (MCC) is organizing the first Critical Mass of cycle enthusiast cycling together on the streets of Imphal. The Mass will first meet at 3 PM at DM College Science Block and after half an hour the cyclist will take a collective ride
Routes: DM College Science block – First Gate – IMC – Directorate of transport –
First Stop: 10mins Halt for a refreshment break with Executive Officer IMC. Objective: Discuss Cycle parking and Lanes – Encourage to ride cycle and if interested join MCC as a member. Second Stop: (if time permits) 10mins halt at directorate of transport, meet the director or deputy director whoever is available. Finally the cyclist will converge at BT Park and disperse.
We would like the print media and newspapers for the news coverage of the event.
WHAT IS CRITICAL MASS: CRITICAL MASS is a gathering of cycling enthusiasts in a place and then have a ride in a city or town. It is critical for the environment, critical for promoting cycling as an alternative source of transport, critical for making the motorized traffic aware of our existence, and most importantly, critical for the cycling community to come together. Critical Mass has no leaders. It’s a bicycling event. There is no national group that licenses local rides. In every city that has a CM, one or more cyclists just picked a day and time and started handing out fliers. You don’t need anyone to authorize your ride. You just do it.
