IMPHAL, May 5: Alleging the Deputy Inspector (DDO Lilong) of Schools, Thoubal with irregularities, the All Elementary Schools Head Masters`™ Forum, Lilong today evening called a press conference at the Manipur Press Club.
Briefing media persons during the conference, the president of the forum, Md Allauddin stated that the forum has put a charter of demands to the government and in case the government failed to meet their demands before the end of 5 days from today, then the forum will continue pressing for their demands using various forms of agitation. He further added that the state government should be held responsible for any unwanted incident incase the government failed to meet their demands.
Recalling actions taken up by the forum on the issue, he also stated that a memorandum has already been submitted to the related authorities including the education (s) commissioner and education (s) director and other officials of the department on April 27 demanding the authorities to initiate appropriate actions against the DI of Schools (DDO Lilong) identified as Md Rafiuddin so as to enable the office to function properly.
Further elaborating on their demands, he stated that in the memorandum submitted on April 27, the forum has stated that teachers of the Lilong (Zone III), Thoubal district are facing grievances due to the way of the DI of Schools is functioning.
Stating that the office is not functioning in a proper way, he elaborated that the office remains closed most of the times.
The memorandum has also alleged the DI of financial irregularities, which has never been detected by higher authorities. It also alleged that the DI has deducted some amounts of money from the accounts of the teachers i.e. Rs 100 each twice without giving any reason for such deductions.
The memorandum has also alleged that the DI has been utilizing non official employees (teachers) and also allowing them to function in a higher grade by neglecting the government staffs.
It has also appealed to the concerned officials to substitute the said DI with another official in the interest of justice.
