IMPHAL, May 28: The United Committee Manipur has reiterated that the Manipur government should not take part in the upcoming tripartite talk to be held between the Government of India, UNC and the state government.

Speaking to mediaperson during a press briefing held this afternoon at its office, Nilamani Khanganba, IPR secretary, said Manipur government should never take part in the tripartite talk under the present circumstances due to certain reason.

Regarding today`™s general strike, the UCM leader said it was called as per wishes of the people. Whether the Nagaland CM visits the state or not is not the issue but as the visit has a mission ahead of the tripartite talk to be held at Senapati district headquarters on May 30, the UCM does not consider it lightly.

While expressing gratitude to the people of Manipur for supporting the day long general strike called today against the visit of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to Senapati district headquarters in Manipur, the UCM leader also expressed its strong condemnation to the bomb blast occurred this morning inside the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

While reiterating that Manipur government should never take part in the tripartite talk, the UCM leader asked as to how Manipur government is to hold talk with the organisation which had severed all ties with the state government. The UNC had not even withdrawn their decision to severe ties with the government of Manipur.

Territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be comprised while dealing with the NSCN (IM), Nilamani asserted and said boycotting or welcoming Chief Minister of Manipur may be taken lightly by CM, but people of Manipur do not consider it lightly as it is a matter of disgracing the people.

It is not only an illegal approach for the Government of India to forcibly allow Manipur government to take part in the tripartite talk, but also an undemocratic and dictatorship means, Nilamani said adding it is a matter of superceding Delegation of Power as conferred by the Government of India to the state.

The UCM leader while appealing Manipur government not to take part in the tripartite talk considering the pulse of the people also appeal people to remain alert on the issue relating to disintegration of Manipur.
