IMPHAL, June 8: At least two bomb were found in different places suspected to be hurled by militants in connection with monitory demands.
In the first incident, a bomb was found this morning around 7 am at the residence of Nachou Gram Panchayat Pradhan identified as Nongmaithem Ranjit, 45, son of Abhiram of Nachou Mayai Leikai. The bomb was detected this morning by construction workers. Bishnupur police picked up the bomb and registered an FIR for further investigation.
In the meantime, decrying the bomb threat to the local Pradhan, Meira Paibies of the nachou area conducted a day long protest sit-in today.
While speaking to mediaperson, Nachou GP Pradhan N Ranjit disclosed that he was surprised by the bomb threat and maintained that he had no such threat or monetory demand from any UG group.
In another incident, one bomb was found at the residence of senior accountant of the DIC Thoubal namely Md. Sanajaoba alias Jalil, 57, of Lilong Turel Ahanbi this morning at around 9:30 am.
The bomb was later picked up by the concern police and an FIR has been registered for further investigation.
