IMPHAL, July 16: All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) has appealed to the authority concerned to allow candidates who have successfully appeared at compartmental examinations conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur seek admission to colleges in the state.
A release of AMSU stated that the successful candidates of compartmental examinations have been denied admission by most colleges on ground of non-availability of seats as the admission process has been completed and the capacities of students have been filled. The students are now in a fix running in vain from one college to another to obtain admission.
It further questioned the purpose of conducting compartmental examinations if the successful candidates are not allowed admission. The AMSU pointed out that the friendlier marking system of CBSE as compared to COHSEM has resulted in most seats in colleges being captured by the CBSE students, it added.
