IMPHAL, July 29: One man was killed in an accident yesterday while another woman was found dead in a river today.
The accident occurred at around 8 pm yesterday at Sekmai Bazar when a truck, bearing registration number MN-07 A 4088, hit the man, identified as Bachaspatimayum Rajen, 51, s/o (late) Babu of Awang Sekmai Mamang Leikai. He died at the spot. The family members have taken the dead body after conducting mortem examination today.
In another incident today, an aged lady was found dead in Kongba River near Kongpal Kongkham Leikai in Imphal East district.
The woman is identified as M Langzarphi, 85, d/o (late) M Yarho of Mantripukhri.
According to family members, Langzarphi went missing from her home since July 26. In the midst of their attempt to trace her, she was found dead in the river. The deceased woman is also reported to have psychiatric problem.
The body was later claimed by the family members without having the post-mortem examination.
