IMPHAL, Aug 4: The state government has decided to purchase private lands on the western side of the Capitol Project to widen the road running along the western side of the complex and use it as a bye-pass from Thangmeiband to NH-2 before the inauguration of the complex.

According to an official source, the decision of the government was taken after due consideration of the ever increasing volume of traffic both public and officials along the Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai road. The government had further considered the necessity for the widening of the road for the convenience of the VVIPS and as well as the general public.
