IMPHAL August 20: Demanding immediate implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the state, various social organizations and student bodies held sit-in-protest at several places in Imphal and other districts today.
The protesters demanded the implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the wake of heavy influx of migrants to the state.
Students of more than 39 educational institutions took part in the protest today.
The students of South Point School of Science, Canchipur carried out a protest march from the school campus to MU gate demanding the implementation of ILP.
HRD Academy, Herbert School, Mem Higher Secondary School, Zenith Academy, T.G. Higher Secondary School, Ananda Higher Secondary School, DM College, Manipur College, and other institutions took part in the protest.
In Thoubal district, the protest was held at Lilong Higher Secondary School, Fancier Abiram, Rudra School, Somendro Sana Hr. Sec. School.
The demonstration was also held at Kongpal under the joint initiative of Kongkham Leikai and Nongpok Leimarol Meira Paibi lup.
