IMPHAL, September 30: A team of the Imphal east district police commandos arrested a self styled project officers of PULF from Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak allegedly involved in triggering explosion in different places, yesterday.
A statement issued by the Senior SP Imphal east district, the militant was arrested around 8 am in the morning.
He has been identified as one Md. Abdul Kadir alias Khaba, 51, s/o Md. Maniruddin of Urup Litan Makhong.
It said that on verification he disclosed that he joined the outfit in the month of January 2004 through one Raj Khan of Yairipok and is presently holding the rank of s/s project officer of the outfit.
He further disclosed of being physically involved in exploding a bomb at the residence of one MD. Albas Gani of Kiyamgei wherein four people were injured on September 11 around 11:50 pm further confessed to have lobbed a grenade in the house of Md. Adul Salam, an elected member of Keirao Zilla Parisad on January 17 at about 6:20 pm, it further said.
It further asserted that his son Md. Altap Kora is also an active member of PULF and he along with his son were involved in extortion of money from general public and transportation of arms and ammunitions from one place to anther and recruited young boys of his locality for PULF organization.
