Re-conciliation committee of URF/KCP formed

IMPHAL, Oct 13: A seven member Reconciliation Committee of the United Revolution Front (URF) of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), an umbrella group comprising of three factions of the KCP, has been formed with Mangangthoi as the chairman and Korouhanba as convener of the committee, stated a statement issued by Korouhanba, assistant secretary Military affairs, KCP.

The statement said that the committee was formed on October 12 at the 105 battalion head quarter of the KCP (MC).

The members of the committee are Mangangthoi, Sinsuba, Pabung, Liklang Khaba, Deepak, Sushil and Korouhanba.

It said that the committee was formed to strengthen the revolutionary movement of Manipur. The committee will be responsible for initiating all the code of conduct that would help the group to scale a distinct height in the revolutionary movement.

It further said that in order to help the URF function well, it has appointed Manganthoi as the chairmen of the committee, who in the meeting conveyed his appeal to other splinter groups of KCP to come forward and join the united force.

It said the meeting also strongly condemned the killing of Sunil Meitei of KCP/MTF, alleging that he was killed after being taken into custody by the security forces.

The meeting also gave a revolutionary salute to the late KCP leader who had contributed his efforts in the formation of URF and also shared the sorrow of the demise with the bereaved family, further asserted the release.

The meet also vehemently opposed the forced annexation of Manipur by the Union of India on August 15 1949, it said. At the same time, it informed to observe the “National Black Day” on October 15 with the slogan of uprooting the occupational forces from the soil.

It said the re-conciliation committee’s chairman has also conveyed to all a message to participate unitedly in opposing the forced annexation of Manipur by the colonial rule of India.
