IMPHAL, Nov 1: The directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR), government of Manipur today observed the Information and Relation at the office complex of the DIPR, Imphal.
IPR and Tourism minister-TN Haokip, who graced the observation as the chief guest, also inaugurated a five day long photo exhibition at the IPR complex.
In his chief guest speech, the IPR minister, highlighted the vital role of public information in promoting the tourism industry in Manipur.
He said that it was unfortunate that the DIPR does not have an office building of its own and assured to provide an office building at the earliest besides further assuring to improve the welfare of the veteran journalist pensioners.
The commissioner of IPR, L. Lakher, who presided over the observation in his speech, stressed upon the need of promoting a dynamic work culture and not routine based work.
The minister also distributed gifts to pensioners and present employees of the IPR department during the observation.
The day was also widely observed in the other districts of Manipur.
