Dark Day observation at Kangla

IMPHAL, April 25: International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) is organizing the 14th Dark Day on April 27 at Iboyaima Shumang Lila Shanglen, Konung Mamang here.

April 27 is observed as “Dark Day” every year to commemorate the event when the British hoisted its Union Jack after pulling down the national flag of the then Manipur kingdom at Kangla on April 27, 1891 just after the Anglo-Manipur War.

International Peace and Social Advancement appealed in a statement not to cause any kind of disturbance on the day and further appealed to all to attend the observation.
