IMPHAL, April 4: Womenfolk on Wednesday staged sit-in protests against crime against women and children at two separate places in the state.
Kangleipak Women Development Association (KAWOBA) organized a sit-in to protest decrying crime against women and children in Manipur at Moirangkhom. The protesters strongly condemned the March 22 gangrape case of a housewife which allegedly involved two IRB personnel.
Another protest demonstration held at Ningthoukhong in Bishnupur district also condemned the rape incident of March 22.
The women protesters also called upon the state government to deliver justice to the victim who is a mother of four and punish the four culprits involved in the alleged rape incident according to law at the earliest possible.
