IMPHAL, May 25: The CO of 6 Manipur Rifles station at Jesami IB in Ukhrul district on Friday grilled all the jawans at the post over the missing of one AK rifle from its armoury May 23 last.
CO, TK Anal, SDPO Phungyar, Pukhreho, Jesami SDPO, Lomason and Reserved Inspector, Tiphang arrived at Jesami from Ukhrul headquarters this morning. The officials later interrogated all the personnel of 6 MR in connection with the mislaid of the AK rifle.
The CO also met with Eyete Wezah, chairman of Jesami Village Council and sought help of the latter to trace and find out the assault rifle before they left for Ukhrul district headquarters.
A search was also conducted in the area to find the misplaced rifle under the supervision of SDPO Jesami and Reserved Inspector.
Meanwhile, Lengthongmang, a jawan of the 6 MR who was arrested in connection with the missing of the rifle will be brought to Imphal Police Station for further interrogation, sources said.
