Duikhon Roi, a Kabui feature film

    IMPHAL, May 30: A Yaipha Thouni Thouram of “Duikhon Roi” (Ekhoulangbee Chekla), a Kabui feature film was held at the Mahabali Community Hall here on Tuesday.

    The title of the film was taken from the name of a wonderful bird which generally confined only in a particular hill region of Manipur and it is based on the customary laws of the Kabui society, KH Bishwamitra, director of the feature film said.

    “We should preserve our cultural and traditional values,” said L Surjakanta, Chairman of Film Forum Manipur. He also said Duikhon Roi is the first ever film which aims to protect our cultural and traditional values.

    He added, “While promoting the cultural and traditional values, we should strictly maintain their originality.”

    The function was also attended by Chaoba Kamson, general secretary of TRC (Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland) and a host of artistes.
