IMPHAL, May 23: A petition of the mother of Irom Rozer who succumbed to injuries from bullet wounds last year for allowing her counsel to assist the prosecution was heard today by the Sessions Judge, Manipur East, according to court sources.
The plea was objected by the counsel of the prime accused N Ajay arguing that granting of such a prayer would hamper and impede the process of prosecution.
It may be recalled here that, the high profile case was taken over by CBI.
The Sessions Judge has fixed June 1 for the next hearing.
