PREPAK (Pro) rejects police claim

    IMPHAL, May 25: Rejecting the statement of AK Jhaljit, Superintendant of Police, Thoubal district which claimed to have arrested two individuals, who were trying to recruit a minor boy to the PREPAK (Progressive), at Pallel market, the outfit said the duo has no any connection with it.

    A statement signed by Boby Mangang, senior publicity officer, department of publicity and propaganda, PREPAK (PRO), said Shamurailatpam Jail Sharma, 27, son of (L) Sh Gopendro of Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak, Nongthongbam Sandip, 37, son of (L) N Narendra of Kakching Phousupat and the minor boy Khundrakpam Sanjoy alias Thoiba, 16, son of Kh Muhindro of Khangabok Part-III whom the duo attempted to recruit to a particular militant group are not related with the outfit.

    Claiming that there is no recruiting body called recruitment cell in PREPAK (Pro), the statement said the outfit has never forcibly recruited any minor boy till now and that in many occasions, the outfit had not accepted underage youths who had willingly came to join the outfit in the past.
