IMPHAL, June 20: Monthly pay and allowances of government officials and employees manning temporary posts has been held up since the month of March 2012 as a result of the resource crunch, according to sources.
It may be mentioned here that except for cadre posts and a few other posts almost 80 percent of the government posts are temporary posts.
Even if a person is a regular employee if the post that he or she holds is not permanent it takes time to clear pay bills.
The source further say, the pay and allowances of the employees of the Revenue department and the teachers of both schools and colleges are being withheld since March this year.
