Alleged militants arrested

IMPHAL, June 9: On June 8, at about 5:30pm, Imphal West District police commandos arrested one active member of PREPAK from Jallal crossing area, Thangal Bazar identified as one Lairenlakpam Bidhu Singh alias Brajabidhu, 57, son of L Biro Singh of Chingarel Tejpur, said a police release.

The release said that one mobile handset and one Scooter were recovered and seized from his possession.

Two hand grenades have been also seized at his pointing, it said.

The release also continued that today at about 5:55am, Imphal West District Police Commandos arrested one active member of PREPAK(GS) from Thoubal bus parking identified as Laishram Nongdrel Singh alias Sushil alias Ningai, 18, son of L Jiten Singh of Malam Makha Leikai.

On follow up action, another active member PREPAK(GS) was also arrested at about 7:30am from his residence identified Laishram Kulla Singh, 43, son of Lalhari Singh of Malam Tulihal Mayai Leikai.

Separate cases have been registered at City police station and Imphal police station, the release said.

Meanwhile in another incident, at 11:20am today three KCP (Lamphel ) members including a woman were arrested by CDO/IW from North AOC, Imphal West.

The release identified the three Wahengbam (N) Naorem (o) Rebecca Leikai, 32, wife of N Brojen alias City Meetei of Tentha Khunou at present staying at Nambol Khathong, Elangbam Amarjit alias Amu alias Somorjit alias Nungshi, 25, son of (L) E Kondurnba Singh of Khangabok part-Ill and Aheibam Nungshi, 32, son of A Nongyai Singh of Wangjing Awang Leikai at present staying at Palace Compound.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 288(6)2012 u/s 16/20 UA (P) Amdt. Act at lmphal PS.

In another incident at about 12:45pm today, Imphal West District Police Commandos arrested two active member of KCP from Paona Bazar identified as Mayengbam Lukhoi alias Nanao Singh, 31, son of son of (L) M Kulabidhu Singh of Yengkhumang Litan Makhong and Koijam Ibomcha Singh, 23, son of K Shantikumar Singh of Pukhao Terapur near Dolaithabi.

Two pistols with eight live rounds of ammunition were recovered, the release.

A case has been registered at the City PS, the release said.

Further in response to the directive of DC, Imphal West District, District Police, Imphal West conducted drive against the unauthorized vendors of LPG cylinders and seized 30(thirty) filled LPG cylinders and 47{forty seven) empty LPG cylinders from Singjamei areas, the release said.

Verification is going all to established the validity of hoarding the LPG cylinders, it ended.
