IMPHAL, June 30: Suspected militants planted a powerful Chinese hand grenade at the courtyard of a special contractor of the state PWD at Uripok Yambem Leikai under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West around 6 am on Saturday.
It was not clear as to why the bomb was placed at the courtyard of special contractor Wahengbam Inao, 57.
A team of Lamphel Police retrieved the bomb and later defused it, a police source said.
