    IMPHAL, June 20: the Voluntary Help Unit Committee (VHUC/Helpline), RIMS hospital today celebrated its 11th foundation day at the Manipur Press Club here.

    N Herojit, Additional Superintendant of Police (L/O), Imphal West, Th Ashnikumar, president, VHUC and Dr Y Bijoykumar, CMD, IHBT, RIMS graced the function as chief guest, president and guest of honourrespectively.

    Giving a brief account on the history of VHUC, M Subashchandra, advisor of the committee said this organization was set up with an aim to provide assistance to the victims of the June 18 uprising.

    The committee had provided financial aid and other basic commodities to the people who were injured in the June 18 unrest, he noted.

    VHUC has so far extended helps to the following incidents: June 18, 2001 uprising, Unrest over killing of Th Manorama in 2004, ISCKON Bomb Blast, Paorabi Bomb Blast, Ragailong Bomb Blast, Tamenglong Bus Accident, Keishampat Firing, Jiri Road Accident, Ukha Tampak Communal Crisis, Migrant Workers Victims, Chingmeirong Blast, SDO Kishan and his two staff killing incident, BT Road Firing, Lilong Bus Accident, Pressmen Accident at Wangoi, Malom Tata Magic accident, IRB Ambush incident, Thoubal Bus Accident, MR and IRB (ROP) Landslide Tragedy, Blood Donation Camp (12 times) and Free Medical Camp (10 times).
