IMPHAL, June 20: A man who was hit by a FZ Yamaha motorcycle near the second gate of Khuman Lampak, Main Stadium yesterday evening around 6 pm succumbed to injuries around 8:30pm at the Shija Hospitals where he was undergoing treatment.
The victim has been identified as Holkhognam Khongsai, 62 of Mongkot Chephu, Litan PS while the driver of the motor cycle has been identified as Nongthongbam Sadananda, 29 son of Iboton of Thoubal Sabaltongba Mayai Leikai.
Police have taken into custody both the rider and the motorcycle.
The dead body has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS, a source said.
