IMPHAL, June 22: There was no one to look after the duties of the VC at Manipur University from June 21 after the Vice Chancellor Prof H Nandakumar Sharma left Imphal for a meeting at New Delhi.
Before he left for New Delhi, Prof Nandakumar Sharma has issued an order that Prof G Jitendra Sharma of Life Sciences department will look after the normal duties of the VC, as Prof L Tombi Singh the seniormost professor is out of station.
Prof Jitendra Sharma however refused to take over charge of VC i/c citing reasons that he is not the seniormost professor of the university in the absence of Prof Nandakumar and Prof L Tombi Singh.
Prof Nandakumar Sharma will be out of station till June 23, according to sources.
