Red Shield organize painting competition

    IMPHAL, June 29: A Spot Painting competition was organised at Boys Hostel, Tamei by troops of 10 DOGRA, part of Red Shield Division. Total 50 (boys and girls) students participated in competition. The theme for the painting competition was ‘The Beauty of Tamei’. The primary intention of this competition was to draw the attention of the youth towards the natural resources and culture in the region. Prizes were distributed to the three best paintings and during the ceremony the students were encouraged to appreciate the prospects of development in the region and approach the security forces for any assistance. It was assured that the security forces are the ‘friends of the people’. Over the years the security forces have supported the students in the region through various schemes like educational tours, distribution of computers, sports equipment and organizing of educational competitions in an effort to provide exposure and provide support to youths in remote villages. The efforts of the Army are being greatly appreciated by the local population, said a PIB release.
