IMPHAL, June 10: A new suspension bridge connecting New Chayang village and Aihang village in chandel district was inaugurated by ED, DRDA CEO ADC Chandel, Hopeson Chothe on June 9.
The bridge was constructed under the Backward Region Grant Fund of the BRGF.
Headman of New Chayang village DB Kotoi, lauded SK Samson, the contractor who was engaged in the construction of the bridge from the start.
He also expressed the need of a water reservoir and a community hall in the village expressed his belief that the government will provide the needful for the villager.
Connectivity between the two villages has been a long cherished desire of the villagers. There have been a lot of difficulties and challenges due to the absence of a proper connectivity in the daily survival of the villagers.
He praised H Dilip, the then DC Chandel as he had initiated the work for the construction of the suspension bridge. Ragui (MPS) ASP Chandel, David Paklian (MPS) SDPO CCPur, Singhajeet Singh (MPS) SDPO Sungnu, HL Lovingson Social Worker and WS Kanral Social Worker also attended the inauguration.
