IMPHAL, June 10: CDO Imphal East arrested two UG cadres yesterday from Saikhul Salem Veng near Sangakpham Bazar and Lilong Chagjing Kashram Makha Leikai.
According to a police release, on June 9 at about 11:15 am, a team of cdo Imphal East arrested one KLA/KLO cadre namely, L Ngamtong Khongsai alias Atong, 33, son of (L) Shotkhat Kongsai of Saikhul Salem Veng from near the Sangakpham Bazar.
On verification, he disclosed that he is presently holding the rank of sergeant and working under the command of self-style finance secretary Poukhulun Haokip alias Zeneva of KLA/KLO and involved in extortion of money from the general public, government offices, private farms etc.
Further, on the same day at about 11:30 am, a team of CDO Imphal East arrested one PREPAK cadre namely, Mutum Opendro Meetei, 33, son of (L) M indrajit of Lilong Chagjing Kashram Makha Leikai from near the Kakwa Bazar (Cinema Hall).
On verification, he disclosed that he joined the said organization in the year 2011, December through one Nongdamba of Nambol and involved in extortion of money from the general public, government offices, private farms etc, it added.
