IMPHAL, July 18: Hill Rose School, Churachandpur boys dominated Tamenglong Don Bosco boys 7-0 during the opening day of the state Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, U-14 category at Khuman lampak, practice ground today.
The tournament which is for both U-14 and U-17 is being organized by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Manipur.
The first match of the U-14 category Group A was played between Hill Rose, CCpur and Don Bosco Tamenglong.
The match was entirely dominated by the CCpur boys from the start.
Leizathang scored the first goal for the CCpur team in the 10th minute of play.
After the first goal, the CCpur team scored at regular intervals, with Gordon scoring a hattrick.
Paukhathang struck twice while Lalminlun struck once to end the match with a 7-0 defeat for the Tamenglong boys.
In the first group B match of the same category, First Officer Academy, Ukhrul drew with St Peter Chandel with a 1-1 scoreline. SN Bungpen scored for Ukhrul while Ayat scored for the Chandel team.
In the first Group C match of U-14, Martin Grammar School, Thoubal defeated Pinjabati High School, Bishnupur by 4-1.
Biolence and Sushilkumar struck twice each for the Thoubal team while L Ajit scored the solitary goal for the Bpr team.
Meanwhile, in the first match of the U-17 boys’ of Group A, Thangkhai High School, CCPur blanked Don Bosco Senapati by 6-0.
The U-17 tournament is being played at the Khuman Lampak main stadium ground.
Kamkhuallian scored a hattrick, while, Paokhongam scored twice and Dalthimsiam scored once to end the match with a 6-0 win.
In the second ground match of the same category, Group C, Oxford English School, Imphal West drew with Thani Memorial, Chandel by 1-1.
Chungneilen scored for the Chandel school, while Joshi Kumar scored for the Imphal West school.
Both the categories are participated by 11 teams in four groups each.
The opening function of the football tournament was attended by YAS Director H Deleep Singh and AMFA secretary L Ranjit Roy.
