IMPHAL, July 11: The state Chief Minister blamed the family members for reporting late to the police on the reported kidnapping of a supplier by NSCN (IM) cadres.

`Often times in many similar cases like this the police are informed later which has left the police handicapped,` said CM O Ibobi Singh.

`In this case also it was reported after 10 or11 days by the family members of the Irungbam Irabanta. But soon after they reported the police, the police alerted all the police station in the state,` he further said.

But he assured the house that police is putting every effort to locate him. A team of police led by an SP has been assigned for the case.

He also said that NSCN (IM) is under peace talk with the India government, and if the report on the involvement of NSCN (IM) cadres in the kidnapping of the contractor is true, then the individuals involved in the case will be punished by the book.

This was said by CM O Ibobi Singh replying to the calling attention motion raised by MLA Th Shyamkumar on the reported kidnapping of a supplier by NSCN (IM) cadres.
