IMPHAL, July 6: Naga Peoples Front (NPF) candidate Samuel Risom of Ukhrul District said that the House should not be hasty in condemning the remark of the Punjab legislator Ajit Singh who said that all street dogs should be sent to the northeast.
He mentioned that his wife was suffering from a coughing fit and after having the meat, she got well. “Dog meat is precious to us, it’s a delicacy and good for health”.
However, the calling attention motion raised by MLA Ibohalbi cut across the House in the manner that the Punjab MLA statement was a derogatory one and suggested that intimation be made from the Speaker to his Punjab counterpart.
The home minister, Gaikhangam also reciprocated Ibohalbi in the regard and said that the sentiment of the House should be conveyed to Punjab.
In the regard, Speaker Th Lokeshwor ruled that after consulting the members of the House, the legislators of Punjab will be intimated in written.
