IMPHAL, July 1: The All Manipur College Teachers Association, AMCTA felicitated Consumers and Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro Singh at Imphal College today.
Speaking at his felicitation, the Minister said his purpose is to serve Manipur especially in the field of education and continued that the education system will changed for the better soon.
While saying education in the state upto the secondary level has developed, he said he will now turned his interest towards higher education.
Regarding downsizing of the education department, he said he will definitely put the matter before the cabinet as it is a matter of education for the state.
Regarding construction of school buildings and choosing contractors, the Minister said work orders will be awarded to only those contractors who have proper credentials.
He further said government teachers in the state should admit their wards in their own schools in order to develop the schools in the state.
He also urged the people of the state not to send their children outside but to admit them in the schools of the state.
The Minister said he would allow the college principals to work freely and wouldn’t interfere in their administration of the college.
He urged the teachers to cooperate with him and further urged them to bear with him until the present Assembly session is over.
