IMPHAL, July 8: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident occurred at Ushoipokpi Shangomshang under Lilong police station at around 6.30 am today.
The deceased person is identified as Yengkhom Shyam, 36, son of Kwaklei of Kakching Makha Mayanglambam Pareng and the injured person is his cousin brother Yengkhom Lalit, 12, son of Kunjababu.
They were hit by a Tata tipper truck bearing registration number MN-01 1606 on their way from Kakching to Imphal. Shyam succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital while Lalit has been admitted to the ICU of Shija Hospitals in critical condition.
