CDO Thoubal arrest traffickers, recovers huge amount of drugs

IMPHAL, August 31: CDO of Thoubal District Police on Wednesday at around 1:35 pm arrested two drug trackers along with five kilos of pangolin scale worth about rupees one point five lakh in the local market during a search operation at Thamnapokpi, said a police release.

According to the release, the arrested persons have been identified as ThangsualianZou, 20, son of KhaineipaoZou of Simveng in Churachandpur District and ThangminlianZou alias HiminZou, 23, son of DM LumZou of Tuining village in Churachandpur District.    

The arrested persons along with the seized items have been handed over to forest officials, it added.

Further, CDO of Thoubal District Police conducted search operation yesterday at Pallel Bazar and recovered one lakh seventy thousand seven hundred seventeen numbers of Pseudoephedrine tablets worth rupees forty four lakh from the secret chamber of a Maruti van bearing registration number AS-25B/3385 at about 2 pm, it further said.

The Maruti Van was driven a person identified as Md Amir Khan, 22, son of Md Abdul Karim of Lilong LeihaoKhong. The seized tablets, involved Maruti van with driver Md Amir Khan was handed over to OC Kakching Police Station, it said.
