IMPHAL, August 20: Indo Burma Road Sporting Association, Yumnam Leikai will be relegated from the Imphal West Super Division league following today’s defeat against NACO, Nambul Mapal.
NACO defeated IBSA by 1-0.
Both teams were levelled at four points each just two days back and bought were facing relegation even though NACO had an upper hand with two match remaining while IBSA had just one match.
The IBSA players went into the field today with full knowledge that anything worse than a win could relegate them to the 1st division.
The all-important goal of the match was scored in the first minute of the match by Kh Naoba for NACO.
Naoba’s goal has become the fastest goal of the league season so far.
Thanks to Naoba’s fastest goal, NACO has now seven points from five matches and is now above relegation.
Their last match will be against championship hopeful DMRAO Awang Sekmai on August 25 at the THAU ground.
In the second ground match of the day, YDO, Konjeng Lamdong hold THAU, Thangmeiband to a 1-1 draw.
Deepak scored at the 48th minute for YDO which was equalised in the 77th minute by L Pradeepkumar for THAU.
The referee booked three players each of the two teams with yellow cards.
The YDO players are Anand (27th) Deepak (37th) and James (65th) while the THAU players are Tomba (28th), W Sanathoi (56th) and Ng Rishikumar (78th).
YDO has seven points from five matches while, THAU has eight points from the same number of games.
