IMPHAL, August 3: The JAC on Bus Accident-Tml-Duigailong, Tamenglong District has reiterated the demand for ex-gratia/interim relief to the next of kin killed in Tata Sumo accident between Khongshnag-Irang (NH-37) on July 20 and the injured. The JAC has also demanded stricture by the Directorate of Transport, Government of Manipur for plying only insured vehicles along the Imphal-Tamenglong road, said a release of the JAC.
It further continued that the death toll has risen to five persons as the seriously injured GaigangmeiRemei, 25, son of KhubiRemei of KhupumDuithangjing village died just after he was discharged from Shija hospital on July 31, while four persons injured are still under treatment.
The JAC has also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Transport Minister and other concern authorities for prompt redressal, it added.
